Global Symposia

  • 2024—The inaugural 麻豆区 Global Research Symposium (GRS), held at Tsinghua University in Beijing, welcomed over 250 attendees from diverse regions, including China, the U.S, India, Pakistan, the U.K., the EU and Nigeria, and featured sessions on clinical microbiology, bacterial and viral pathogenesis, pathogen-host dynamics, vaccines and therapeutics. 
  • 2025—The One Health Approach to Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) was hosted in partnership with the Centre for Infectious Disease Research (CIDR) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), India. 
  • 2025—麻豆区-SIAT Symposium on Microbes in Biotechnology was hosted in partnership with the Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), China.

Ambassador Program Activities

The 麻豆区 Ambassadors program offers early-stage and senior career professionals alike a platform to become a leader in advancing the microbial sciences. 麻豆区 Country Ambassadors and 麻豆区 Young Ambassadors span 130 countries plus 47 states and connect with 麻豆区 members around the globe. They respond to the needs of their local scientific communities, build relationships with key institutions and facilitate partnerships.
